Pinwheel Kazak

Pinwheel Kazak in the sunlight
This rug was carefully hand knotted by expert adult weavers. They have placed each thread on this rug with meditative focus.
It is 5 feet 7 inches wide and 7 feet 11 inches long.
This carpet was recently hand knotted in the mountains of the same region of the world that pile carpets were first invented. It is a Kazak and showcases the bold patterns and colors of this type of rug.

This rug features the “pinwheel” design. For obvious reasons this particular design is often prized for its kinetic feel. The red background and ivory border are used to add emphasis to the emotional content of the design. It has been speculated that this design is the reworking of a Persian design, altered to meet the bolder requirements of a Kazak. As is the style of a Kazak, this rug also uses three central medallions as the centerpieces of the design.
This rug was recently crafted with care, focus, devotion, and creativity by skilled adult weavers.
