The Kazak weaving style originated in the remote mountainous region between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. This type of wool pile rug displays bold Geometric patterns and bright colors.

At the time this style was first invented, the cultural center of the rug weaving world was to the south in Persia. The Persian rugs demonstrated impressive skill and focus with their incredibly detailed patterns and high knot density.
